Georgia On My Mind

The last two weekends have been spent with Doug's family in Georgia. Doug's dad has a big birthday this week (Happy Birthday Grand Chuck!), so we wanted to do something fun and special for him. Two weekends ago, with the help of Linda, we were able to plan a surprise party at the Atlanta Food Truck Park and Market followed by an ice cream party at their house. Doug's brother flew in from Ft. Lauderdale to help with the surprise! Dave normally flies straight to Atlanta, and then we are able to spend time with him once at Doug's dad's house. This time however, he flew to Greenville the Thursday before, and was able to spend two days with us (really Callen!) before heading to Atlanta. We had not seen Dave since Christmas, so it was fun to be with him, and especially fun to watch him and Callen hang together since Cal has changed so much since the last time Dave saw him. We rode bikes, went to the park, and played in the yard. We kept Uncle Dave entertained and busy.

Uncle Dave, I can help put the latch on the door!

How did you get so much hair?

Thanks Dave for all your help!

We had a great time surprising Charley, who knew nothing and was shocked to see Dave, Doug, Callen, and me waiting for him at the Food Truck Park!

Get me away from this crazy dressed man they call my Grand Chuck!!

Another Muddypaws book (this was Cal's nickname for Charley until he was born)

This ice cream bar was pretty much the best thing EVER!

The Morris boys

This past weekend was the Morris family reunion at Unicoi State Park in Helen, Ga. We went down for the day to see lots of family. Several are from Georgia and others are from the Northeast. Doug's uncle Tom came in from Baltimore, so we were excited to see him and for him to meet Callen.

Hey Grand Chuck! My name is on that hat!

I need a drink...now!

We've been busy with traveling the last 2 weekends, but have enjoyed seeing family and allowing some to meet Cal for the first time. We are looking forward to hanging around here for the 4th, and enjoying some time with family and friends.
